Yiyun Kang creates immersive multimedia installations that explore the evolving interplay between human, non-human, and environmental entities. Working at the intersection of art, design, and technology, she constructs powerful spaces for dialogue about our shared future. As an internationally recognised artist and KAIST Chair Professor, she has executed high-level commissioned collaborations with NASA and Google—notably the interactive project Passage of Water—alongside partnerships with global brands like Jaeger-LeCoultre and BTS. Kang’s installations have appeared at internationally renowned venues including the Victoria and Albert Museum, Grand Palais Immersif, Fondation Fiminco, and UN COP28. Her multidisciplinary practice bridges these artistic achievements with rigorous academic research, highlighted by publications in ACM SIGGRAPH and MIT Leonardo. In 2026, she became the first Korean artist invited to speak at the main TED conference, presenting her visionary practice on the global stage.
